YANKEES TALKING TO TWINS ABOUT SNAGGING SANTANA: After already losing Torii Hunter, the Minnesota Twins could soon be saying sayonara to another all-star:

The ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS reports that the New York Yankees have started talks with the Twins about acquiring Johan Santana. The pitcher becomes a free agent after the 2008 season, and the Twins would prefer to trade and get something in return, rather than let Santana walk next year and get nothing. The Mets, Red Sox, and Dodgers have also expressed interest in handling the hurdler.
After 2008, Santana would possibly demand a new contract that could be the most expensive ever for a baseball pitcher. And the Yankees are one of the few teams that could roll out the dough for such high-priced services.
