Wisconsin Has Its Own Rudy Except He Isnt An A-Hole

BADGER ANOTHER RUDY! (EXCEPT FOR THE A**HOLE PART) The MADISON CAPITAL TIMES gives us a number to watch for on Saturday as Wisconsin visits Ohio State: #3.

That’s the numeric representation of Badger football player Ben Strickland, but #1 would be more appropriate - as the former walk-on is the most popular player on the team.

Ben Strickland

We’re sorry to say that Strickland isn’t another Rudy, because he actually plays and isn’t a self-promoting a–hole. Instead, Strickland is devoted to his family, friends, teammates and community, without being willing to really talk about it.The best example: Strickland gave up his scholarship for his senior season because a teammate on the squad (and former walk-on) didn’t have his scholarship renewed. And unlike a similar case with the Washington State basketball team earlier this year, Strickland isn’t wealthy and had to get a part-time job to cover expenses.

Not a self-promotion machine or independently wealthy? Then we won’t be seeing anything on DVD out about him anytime soon.
