FOX KNOCKS OUT ARNOLD - LITERALLY: It’s been a tough week for Tom Arnold, in more ways than one.
FSN this week announced that Chris Rose will return as host of the "Best Damn Sports Show, Period," as the show goes back to an ensemble cast. Arnold will also be permanently dropped from the sports show cast, but will continue to host the show until March 21, when Rose takes over.
Arnold recently taped a segment on the show with former middleweight boxing champion Suger Shane Mosley. The host had challenged Mosley to a boxing match, but didn’t think the boxer would take him up on the brawl boast.
But Mosley accepted the challenge, and climbed into the ring with the corupulent comedian. Moments into the match, Mosley clocked Arnold square in the face - leaving the host with a facial abrasion.
When asked by an entertainment website about his wound, Arnold said, "He hit me in the face while we were boxing."
Arnold also acknowledged that his days on FSN are numbered - and joked(?) that Fox executives may have used the punch-up to send a message: "They’re not trying to fire me, they’re trying to kill me."
