This is like shooting hoops alone. It can be YOUR definition of a sport when you add people and have a competition…this is called practicing–PRACTICING A SPORT. Because when he does compete versus other bikers and there is a goal to execute difficult actions to score points…sounds like a sport to me.

And please, please, please don’t bring that weak stuff about competitions versus sports here. It’s semantics. Just because a sport doesn’t have an offense and defense doesn’t mean it’s not a sport. I’m pretty sure that was never a requisite.

Well, i guess it’s better this kid (rather old kid) is doing tricks on a bike all day and having it filmed rather than smoking weed or crack all day. It’s cool, but kids doing stunts on bikes has been happening as long as kids have had bikes. Sport? I didn’t see his competition as in car racing, competitive figure skating. He’s doing tricks on a bike, that’s all.

That is a sport. that jump through the powerpole holder up wire thingies was sick. why wouldn’t it be a sport? because there are tricks and bikes….throw a judge in there…it is no different than friggin figure skating except this stuff is waaaaay more awesome. And figure skating is a sport…this is way more a sport than that. he was drifting, on his pegs, around a corner…that is sick…drifting is part of car racing which is a what? a sport. sick, sick sick…love it

What is sports is like defining what is art. It’s not up to you. It’s up to each of us. So…it really doesn’t matter what this poll says. You can copy and paste a “definition” of what ’sport’ is but that hardly encompasses the idea. Just like you can’t tell a guy painting road lines that because he’s not painting on a canvas that, if he thinks what he does is a work of art, that he’s actually wrong. It’s all perception–and not surprisingly, yours doesn’t matter much.
