CBS 4 reports from Miami Saturday afternoon:
Former University of Miami and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Warren Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach Police on Saturday on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, according to Juan Sanchez of the Miami Beach Police Department. The arrest prompted swift action by the NFL, who removed Sapp from NFL Network broadcasts while the league investigates the matter.
Sapp was picked up on Saturday at the Surfcomber Hotel at 1717 Collins Avenue.
The NFL Network released the following statement on Mr. Sapp: “We were made aware this afternoon of the arrest of Warren Sapp by the Miami Police Department (sic). In light of these circumstances, Warren Sapp will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter.”
Sanchez to Omar Kelly of the SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL: “He’s being questioned in reference to a domestic battery. No one has been arrested yet.“

Warren Sapp is a colossal prick. He has a phony persona on TV as a cheerful fun guy, but anyone who has covered him knows what a rude guy he is. After games he used to spit tobacco all over the floor right in front of the reporters, sometimes on them. He was rude, obnoxious, and a pain to deal with for all involved.

Hey Brooks, I know Sapp was arrested and Irvin was only named in a complaint, but don’t you think the NFL Network should have removed him as well?

Hey Guys,
I have not met Sapp in person, but I always liked him. Is he an ass sometimes…YES. I have heard this a lot about him…it is just VERY disappointing to hear this about someone who could be such a role model to new players in the NFL and kids, well he still is a role model…..of what kids should NOT be like and what they SHOULD NOT DO!
He does play such a nice guy on TV, and I LIKE his commentary, It just sucks to find out that this guy who plays such a good guy and deals out such stringent advice and is the criticizem KING (spelling…lol) is the biggest fraud of them all. He is no Jamie Dukes and at least with Marshall Faulk you know what your getting!
But yeah, Michael Irvin and Warren Sapp are two people who are definitely the poster children of what NOT to do with your fame, fortune and influence!
Sapp and Irvin should not throw stones at glass houses!
