I know, a ring also made people conveniently forget the fact that Ray Ray Lewis killed a dude.

It just bugs me as a Bengals fan, because they’ve worked really hard to freshen the air of a locker room that used to reek of turd. They’ve mostly been successful at it, too. If Mike Brown would ever step back and realize he’s nothing like his Dad, Lewis would be able to pick his own players based on if or where they SHOULD be drafted rather than going for the best bargain.

Brooks, I enjoy reading your stuff and check for updates several times a day, but when are you and so many other sports writers going to quit using the tired “Bengals are jailbirds” line? Their troubles mainly ended two years ago!

Check PFT’s Turd Watch and see where the Bengals line up against the rest of the league, man. They don’t have anybody on the roster that has any time on the field that’s been arrested since Jan. 2006 (Jonathan Joseph). Yes, Jason Shirley is awaiting trial, but a fifth-rounder with that kind of ceiling is worth the gamble I think. If he screws up again (which would be the first time as a Bengal), he’s gone.
