I don’t know if ESPN will be covering the result of this game, so I’d better make note of it here.
Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, he of the 6.17 ERA, allowed only 2 hits on 93 pitches as the Yanks beat Boston, 4-1.
Neither Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz could slap it into play in six at-bats. J.D. Drew homered in the fifth inning and Coco Crisp dropped a bunt-single in the ninth for the only tallies against Wang.
YAHOO! SPORTS has the money quote:
“I felt especially good about this because I threw the ball well here in Boston and never pitched well here,” Wang said through a translator.
Of course he did. When Wang performs well, everyone feels good.
