Today, former Georgia football coach Vince Dooley guested on Tim Brando’s nationally-syndicated Sporting News Radio show. If I have to set up who Dooley is, you may as well move on now.
With the Georgia football program currently a shambles, a somehow cheery Dooley ended the interview with a comment to Brando that, as an alumnus of the Univ. of Georgia, I can assure you ruined many a Georgia Bulldog’s day:
Dooley is an alumnus of Auburn and was an assistant on Auburn’s 1957 National Championship Team. And Auburn certainly wouldn’t qualify as Georgia’s top, yearly rival.
But with UGA’s football progruhm in the state that it’s in at the moment, an Auburn battle cry is the last thing I want to hear coming out of Dooley’s mouth right about now.
