Soccer is just AWFUL…no other word for it. I apprecciate that they are atheletes but any sport that can end in a 0-0 tie is just stupid. Keep floppin around out there “soccer guys”. That is the only reason to watch a highlight. Keep it in other countries. That’s where it belongs. And all you “soccer fans” that think because football players wear pads, they are fully protected have never been blinsided by a 300 pound offensive lineman. SOCCER SUCKS!!!!!!!

if you think soccer is for gay . meet me at any park and lets play. i bet you not gonna last 5 min .sorry i forgot! american fans like to watch sports not play. the average soccer lover not only watch.WE PLAY! soccer is the most democratic sport . the sport itself doesnt discriminate : you can be short, tall, strong. what u need is skill. if u are short and try to be a basketball player its impossible, NFL if u not big dont even try.

the soccersucksass post proves how shallow most Americans are when it comes to sports (and most other things). ie: there NEEDS to be tons of scoring for anything to constitute “action”. I bet all you care about in basketball are watching players dunk, and know (nor care) absolutely nothing about offensive and defensive sets and plays. Shallow!

I love how people hate on soccer cause they dont understand the game or could never play it. I believe the average soccer player covers about 6 miles per game on average. Thats probably more than most NFl players cover in their career. Yes, there is some diving and some theatrics to try to draw a foul, but its the same in the NBA where people are flopping in the paint to try to get a call. Or everytime a franchise player misses a shot he’s screaming at a ref for a call. In the NFL every time a player drops a pass or doesnt get to the ball he is asking the ref to throw the flag. So to say its “gay” is just a typical response from some guy sitting on the couch drinking a beer watching a 3 hr game that really only consists of about 10 minutes of actual playing time.

soccer sucks ass. simple as that. end of story. goodnight. i’m sure you would enjoy watching people take a nice jog around the park too cause thats all you see for 90 minutes in soccer. goooooallllll! oh wait no offsides doesnt count, tie game 0-0. thanks soccer, that was awesome for my 3 seconds of joy out of the 90 minutes i watched and now it doesnt even count!

for the posters whining so much about the soccer player flops: I totally agree that is annoying, but it happens in the NBA as well, only about 10 times more frequently. Not as pathetic ie. they don’t roll around pretending to be dying, only to hop up a minute later, but i’ve seen entire NBA games where teams just take turns barreling into the lane and jumping into defendors, then both the attacker and defender flying 10 feet backwards to try and award themselves the foul. ENTIRE NBA GAMES!!! So why is it so great to watch in basketball but not soccer?

And to those who think scoring is everything, and can’t appreciate how most of the game is setting up for the score, then i’m glad the American sports have been invented for you. You should also think about taking up cricket. It’s even slower than baseball AND high-scoring!

running down the clock is bad? Like when in footy about 15 minutes out of every game is for dudes pretending their leg has been amputated and in the unlikely event some accidentally scores a whole team pretending to reel in a marlin? but they make it up when the goofy ref adds 3 or for minutes on his casio watch @ the end of the game right.

But that’s when the team in the lead makes at least three substitutions to use up all the injury time right?
