Last week, we leaped at the chance to show amazing-yet-unlikely footage of a minor league ballgirl with some major-league hops. Now, on this week’s edition of the Bob Saget-free “America’s Phoniest Home Videos”, we offer up Redskins kicker Shaun Suisham belting a 110-yard field goal:
You might need some Dramamine for the first few wavy seconds, and the pixelation is a bit harsh. Luckily, WUSA-TV has a smaller but clearer clip teed up - complete with Geico & granite commercials!
So, is this booting the real deal?
Some could argue that the pigskin got caught in the powerful jet stream that runs just above the Redskins’ practice facility in Ashburn, Virginia. Or Suisham’s really has that strong of a leg, thanks to a childhood spent kicking in Canada, where the football fields are longer & and missed field goals can count as a 1-point rouge.
However, as SPORTS PLAYPEN points out, you’d think someone with such a supposedly powerful foot would finish better than 26th in NFL touchback percentage.
As Kobe Bryant would say, we think Shaun’s shocking shot had a little help from Hollywood. Still, Suisham’s legwork could come in handy when Dan Snyder decides to kick Jim Zorn off the sidelines.
