Yesterday Alabama supposedly fired a
conveniently unnamed Bryant-Denny Stadium press box worker because he or she played Steve Miller’s “Take the Money and Run” and Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man” before last Friday’s Iron Bowl.
(McElroy gesture came during Iron Bowl game last Friday)
In lieu of Tuscaloosa’s move, and Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy flipping off Bryant-Denny Stadium fans (and a national television audience) during the same game, am I to assume an apology from McElroy will soon be forthcoming?
Apparently Bear Bryant (old guy in the video below) missed McElroy in eighth grade, which of course had to have been the last time the blessed quarterback produced such an unfortunate display.
If McElroy wasn’t flipping off opposing players or Auburn fans who were in attendance at Alabama’s home field, who was he directing the obscene gesture at?
Speaking of class, come to find out that a full-time Alabama athletic dept. staffer signed off on the taunting songs played during pregame of the Iron Bowl.
But strangely, his job status remains unchanged.
