Canucks Player Bourdon Dies In Motorcycle Crash

The CANADIAN PRESS reports that Vancouver Canucks defenseman Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon.

The 21-year-old Bourdon, a former first-round pick of the Canucks, was riding around in his native northern New Brunswick, when he reportedly lost control of his bike and slammed into a tractor-trailer.

Although police wouldn’t release details of the victim, Bourdon’s sister Eveconfirmed the death but declined further comment when reached at the family’s home in Shippagan.”

Bourdon had 2 goals in 27 games for the Canucks this season. He was also a member of the Canadian national team that won the world junior hockey championships in 2006 & 2007.
