According to the LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, Hartline, 22, was charged by authorities with “second-degree disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place and failure to notify the department of transportation of an address change.”
According to police reports, Hartline and another UK student, Ashley Kathleen Carnes, reportedly assaulted a woman.
“There was a verbal altercation and, possibly, a physical altercation,” police spokeswoman Sherrelle Roberts said.
The written charge against Carnes says that police stopped her boyfriend as he walked down Crescent Avenue. Carnes was involved in the argument and continued arguing after police stopped her boyfriend, the report says.
Police reported that Carnes smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had bloodshot, watery eyes. A woman, Samantha Sheeran, told police that Carnes assaulted her. The police report says that Carnes was carrying identification that belonged to her sister. Carnes told police she had used the ID to enter The Tin Roof.
Sheeran told police that Hartline hit her, causing pain in her lower jaw. The officer took a report but noted that there was no visible injury.
Hartline, who is a senior and started all 12 games for UK this season, posted $235 bond and is out of jail. He’s scheduled to appear in court later today.
The woman accusing him and Carnes of assault apparently has not yet filed a formal complaint against Hartline. Lexington police indicated that since no officer witnessed the alleged assault, an official accusation would have to come from the alleged victim.
UK coach Joker Phillips is aware of the situation but has yet to issue a statement.
All embarrassing stuff, as was the video of Hartline leaving the jail this morning (starts at 1:00 mark):
Actually, it can.
