With two World Series titles in the past four years, it’s a given that the Boston Red Sox have rid themselves of the dreaded Curse of the Bambino.
Or did the curse just move over to the Sawx’s media contingent?
The BOSTON HERALD notes that two journalists covering the Beantown ballers had some bad luck befall them on Monday.
Seitaro Shimomura, who covers the Sox for the Japanese newspaper YOMIURI SHIMBUN, showed up late to Tradition Field for a game vs. the Mets. The reason? Car trouble - a pelican smashed his windshield.
(Wanted for questioning: Scoop the Pensacola Pelican)
Meanwhile, Joe McDonald of the PROVIDENCE JOURNAL was able to make it to the ballpark without running into any fowl play - only to have his laptop smashed by a foul ball during a clubhouse interview with Jon Lester.
Looks like writers from the Herald and Globe better do what the stadium signs say, and keep an eye out for flying objects this season.
