Romo Gets Hand Stepped On At Cowboys Practice

It seemed like Tony Romo was back on track, having patched things up with Jessica Simpson (by telling papa Joe to back off) and returning to Cowboys practice. Sadly, the QB has had to suffer another painful moment - not in his heart, but on his hand.

Tony Romo Cowboys practice

Todd Archer of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS reports that Romo was taken out of practice on Wednesday after a defender tripped over him and stepped on his left hand.

As one DMN commenter quipped, “Who let Jessica in Valley Ranch?

So, is Dallas’ season shot already? Will Brad Johnson have to be the one to lead the ‘Boys to the Super Bowl?

Apparently not:

Romo appeared to have two fingers taped for precautionary reasons after being examined by head athletic trainer Jim Maurer. He took some snaps from center Andre Gurode before returning to work for the final parts of seven-on-seven and team drills.

Romo did not speak after the practice, but he had the cuts cleaned out. It didn’t look to affect his play at all. Last year Romo dealt with a right thumb injury suffered late in the season.

Well, that was a close call. Tony may have to do some extra cuddling with Jess tonight to make sure all his digits are still OK.

But don’t be surprised if rosters cuts come a bit early for the damaging defender.

This isn’t good. I’m pretty sure Tony is playing at Torrey Pines tomorrow in the promotion with Timberlake, Lauer and a contest winner to see if they could break 100. Now he has an excuse.
