Tony Romo Bugged By Cockroach, Pam Oliver Bugged By Fox Producer

ROMO & REPORTER BUGGED DURING FOX GAME INTERVIEW: If the NFL thing doesn’t work out, Cowboys QB Tony Romo can always rent himself out as a roach motel:

Tony Romo Cockroach

During the waning moments of a meaningful less preseason tilt between the ‘Boys & Colts, Romo was chatting with Fox sideline reporter Pam Oliver, when a cockroach was placed on his uniform.

As cameras rolled, Romo did a little dance to shake off the bug. (We assume he then went off to make a little love & Get Down Tonight with Carrie Underwood.)

Doesn’t say much about the health quality of Texas Stadium concessions when a roach that big is easily found. Maybe they use the same food service as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California, USA, North America, Western Hemisphere, Third Rock From The Sun, Milky Way Galaxy.

Terence Newman Seinfeld

And just like an episode of ‘Seinfeld’, Newman turned out to be the nemesis. Cornerback Terence Newman playfully put the pest on the QB player’s pads, punctuating a proud, productive performance by the ex-Panther of Eastern Illinois University.

But Romo wasn’t the only one bugged during the interview. Oliver was told by producer Richie Zyontz to wrap things up. After mentioning this on air, she instead asked Romo one more question concerning his contract situation.

After his final answer, Oliver wrapped things up herself, concluding, “All right. Take that, Z! Back to you,” then finishing off with an audible microphone throwdown.

Play-by-play’er Joe Buck immediately responded, “Oh, man, she’s feeling her oats here in the 9th of August. She’s defying our producer Richie Zyontz and asking one more hard hitting journalistically-sound question” - followed by laughter from the booth.

Thanks a lot, Pam. Your extra question left no time to see another Fox promo for “So You Think You Can Dance?”.
