It’s been a pretty tough week for Tony Romo. The Dallas Cowboys lost their first game of the season at home to the hated Washington Redskins, and then after the game Romo had to sit and listen to Terrell Owens cry about how he wasn’t getting the ball enough, and that not all of Romo’s passes were “catchable.” Sure, Owens apologized for it all, but the words still sting.

Of course, despite everything that seems to be going wrong for Tony on the football field lately, life off the field still appears to be going strong. Why, both Romo and his girlfriend Jessica Simpson (did you know they were dating?) were seen shopping for rings in the past few days.

One of my best Dallas snoops just happened to be in the original Neiman Marcus in Big D, shortly after Jessica Simpson and main man and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo were in the store checking out big sparklers — the kind women wear on their left-hand ring finger.

I’m hearing the couple are talking about a winter wedding. Dallas fans can relax. The happy twosome are said to be planning to tie the knot well after the end of the NFL season, including the Super Bowl — should the Cowboys make it to the big game in Tampa, Fla.

Okay, so what are the odds that the “best Dallas snoop” is Jessica’s father Joe Simpson? I’m going to set them at 1/5. I can just see him following Tony and Jessica around as their shopping, hiding behind the makeup counters, and constantly making phone calls to various media outlets.

“They’re getting Panda Express at the food court!!”

Terrell Owens had no comment on the rumor, though I’m sure that will change shortly.
