Steve Cofield, the brains behind the Vegas-based blog MR. SUNSHINE, lent his talents to the YAHOO MMA BLOG recently, and spun a delectable tale of a love triangle blossoming between bitter head-bashing foes.

It goes a little something like this: UFC champ Andrei Arlovski has an on-going feud with fellow fighter Tim Sylvia. The duo has already faced off three times, with Sylvia holding a 2-1 edge, and neither guy is particularly fond of the other.

When Arlovski wasn’t tearing up the ring with Tim, he was cozying up with Patrycja Mikula, a former Playboy Cyber Girl & ring card girl. But after two years together, Andrei & Patrycja parted ways, which was probably a relief for Arlovski’s supporters:

Fans lashed out at Mikula alleging that she turned Arlovski soft. Arlovski did get very metrosexual, waxing his body hair for fights, once he shacked up with Mikula.

So, now who do you think Arlovski’s former flame was recently spotted out & about with?

Heh, just kidding. Yes, ’twas with the one & only Tim Sylvia.

Apparently, Tim & Patrycja were seen together at an MMA event in Chicago last weekend. But Cofield questions the true nature of the coupling:

Is this a WWE-style ploy to build to a fourth Sylvia-Arlovski fight? The angle has ‘Chris Benoit stealing Kevin Sullivan’s wife, Woman’ written all over it.

Is Mikula actually smitten with the 6-foot-8 ‘Maine-iac’ Sylvia? Or is she using poor Tim as a pawn to get back at her old boyfriend? And is it cheesy for Sylvia to be scooping up Arlovski’s leftovers?

Tim’s camp isn’t so stricken with Andrei’s ex, as some inside Sylvia’s circle has referred to her as a “wallet and belt chaser.”

We’ll see if true love prevails on July 19, when Sylvia main events against Fedor Emelianenko. If Fedor scores the win, he might just get himself a new piece of Polish arm candy. And Tim will have to go home heartbroken, if not arm-broken or leg-broken.
