Tim Hardaway Just Can’t Get That Coaching Job

Folks, I’m just as baffled as you. A stand-up guy like Tim Hardaway wants to help coach his former team, the Miami Heat. And he’s having a devil of a time getting that callback interview.

Hardaway spoke to the PALM BEACH POST to express his frustration toward the situation: “for some reason, I don’t know why, I’m not able to be with them. … I don’t know what’s going on there”

Me neither, Tim. Me neither.

“I’ve talked to Pat (Riley) Had great conversations with him. Don’t know why I’m not there. I’ve been trying for three or four years now. Don’t know why I’m not there. It’s kind of frustrating to me because I know I can help them out with that type of stuff — scouting, helping out with the guys, making sure they understand what they need to do.

“It’s kind of frustrating to have my expertise around and willing to help and they’re not calling.”

You know what, Tim? Screw ‘em. If they don’t know a good thing when they see it, then that explains why they had the worst record in the league last year. If you ask me, the whole situation’s just really queer. I’d move on with my life if I were you, Tim.

Or you could do what Kevin Costner does any time he’s turned down for a big role. Just make your own basketball team! And make sure it lasts twice as long as other basketball teams. That’ll learn ‘em.
