Tiger Woods To Former Partner Gatorade: Suck It

During the final round of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach on Sunday, Golf.com’s David Dusek spotted a … *gasp* … POWERADE bottle in Tiger’s golf bag:

Tiger Woods has Powerade In His Bag After Being Dropped By Gatorade

Tiger is no longer paid to endorse Gatorade. Interesing to spot a Powerade bottle in his bag at US Open Sunday.

Woods previously had a long-term endorsment deal with Gatorade but the iconic sugar water manufacturer dropped him last December.

Like his now-faux confessional right in the middle of The Accenture (followed by a hasty Tour return), I’m sure it’s mere coincidence that Woods had Gatorade’s #1 competitor in his bag on Sunday.

A myopic move by Gatorade… this guy will be back on top of the golf and endorsement world before long. If I were tiger, I’d be sporting Powerade logos on my bag, hat and every other space available.

Coca-Cola (Powerade) is a corporate partner of the Pebble Beach Golf links. The USGA does not have a beverage partner, just Lexus, AMEX, IBM, Rolex, and RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland). Who said that he really would have a choice but to pour into a Nalgene bottle?

Yeah Right - Now I got to drink Gatorade - No more Powerade for me. Dirty people drink dirty stuff.

Gatorade’s #1 competitor is Vitamin Water. Powerade is on the decline, big time.

Coke also owns Vitaminwater so they don’t really market powerade anymore imo. I know of one Coca Cola Bottling Company that does not even stock Powerade anymore in their machines for employees. They have everything under the Coke umbrella including Vitamin Water.
