Tiger Woods‘ quest for a perfect PGA season came to an end Monday, as Jim Ogilvy out-shot the competition to win the WCG-CA Championship in Doral, Florida.
It was the first defeat all year for Woods, who hadn’t lost a PGA event since September. But as Armando Salguero of the MIAMI HERALD reports, the winning streak wasn’t the only thing Tiger lost over the weekend.
While teeing up at the ninth hole on Sunday, Woods was in the middle of his backswing, when he heard someone’s camera going off.
”Jackass!” he yelled, as he dropped a hand off his follow-through and that usually effortless, smooth swing suddenly seized and turned into something ugly.
Soon Woods was looking around in the general vicinity of the camera’s noise, angrily searching for an offending shutter bug to squash.
And Tiger’s mood didn’t approve by the next hole, as he announced some helpful advice to the crowd following him:
”The next time a photographer shoots an (expletive) picture,” Woods warned, “I’m going to break his (expletive) neck.”
Whoa! And swearing on Easter, of all days! Looks like this Tiger’s got some claws. Or he’s just a sore loser.

Who is Jim Ogilvy? It was interesting watching that on TV, it seemed like NBC turned off the sound right as soon as it happened so you didn’t hear what you knew was coming.

Tiger is completely justified in yelling at the photographers. There are very strict rules which are made very clear to these people before they step on the course.
Plus, at the time the offending picture was taken, Tiger was 5 back with 9 to play. He had just birdied a par five and then this shutterbug f’ed up his swing and he gave back that stroke.
