The Nielsen/NetRatings are out for the week ending December 29 and ESPN and the NFL are now dueling for online sports supremacy.
For the week, ESPN.com boasted just over 3 million unique visitors while the NFL Internet network was at 1,479,000. SportsLine.com was fourth at 1,053,000.
Average time spent per week: ESPN was first at 19 minutes, 39 seconds, followed by 19:36 for the NFL Internet Network, 16:46 for No. 3 Yahoo Sports, 11:25 for SportsLine.com, and 8:27 for No. 5 CNNSI.
The ratings are based on 8,000 U.S. participants with Internet access at work.
