GEIGER LEARNS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING IDLE: You may remember that SbB recently reported on former NBAer Matt Geiger’s insane $20M Tampa mansion - which he now has on the market.

The ST. PETERSBURG TIMES reports that now the shiny-pated-one has a new strategy to hawk his 36-acre compound (which includes pizza oven and herd of wild buffalo): “The former NBA player is asking Pinellas County to allow him to build a helipad, allowing whoever buys his North Pinellas estate, priced at nearly $20-million, to hop in their whirlybird and fly over that pesky Tampa Bay area traffic to get to their destination more quickly than the rest of us.”
We are talking Tampa, right? Did I miss something?

A county zoning examiner “is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Matt Geiger’s request to put a helipad at his home in East Lake at 9 a.m. July 12 in the fifth-floor County Commission assembly room at 315 Court St., Clearwater.”
Now that the news has hit the newspaper, we’re sure the proceedings won’t draw hordes of busybody, idle retirees devoted to delivering an open-ass sandwich to any sort of groundbreaking real estate enhancement. But perhaps the county’s well-heeled elite will turn out this morning in droves in support of Geiger’s quest (ok, maybe not).
