The WALL STREET JOURNAL reports that Hyundai is thinking about pulling it’s ads from the Super Bowl.

The South Korean auto maker is fearful their spots might rub some prospective buyers the wrong way. Not because of any racy content or wardrobe malfunctions, but because of concerns about a stagnating economy.
Hyundai believes that “taking out high-priced ads in this environment might rub some consumers the wrong way.”
Well, it didn’t bother Allstate when they sponsored the BCS Championship game in Louisiana - where many hurricane insurance claims are still unpaid.
If Hyundai decides to pull out but Fox can’t find any new ad buyers, the spots will have to air. However, as the WSJ points out, “Given the high demand for ad time, Fox would likely be able to sell the slots at an even higher price.”

VICTORIA’S SECRET MODEL BOOED BY NEW ENGLAND FANS: The BOSTON HERALD uncovers the unthinkable - a large crowd of men booing a Victoria’s Secret model:
The reaction came when model Selita Ebanks appeared on the Gillette Stadium jumbotron during Sunday night’s game between the Patriots and Eagles. The foxy model was visiting Foxboro as part of a lingerie promotion. Maybe the masses were mad that she wasn’t wearing any of it at the moment.
Even stranger, the BOSTON GLOBE chatted with Selita pre-game, and learned she’s quite the Pats Backer:”I’m a huge fan of Randy Moss and of course Tom Brady and the rest of the guys. They’re breaking amazing records and they’re great.”
So, what’s with the boobirds? A Pats spokesman blames rude visitors, commenting, “It must have been the Philadelphia fans. They’ve been known to boo Santa.”
Ho-ho-ho!

VICTORIA’S SECRET GETTING INTO THE SPORTS BUSINESS: The WALL STREET JOURNAL reports Victoria’s Secret is “putting athletic wear in 30 of its stores this fall to test the potential of sports gear.”
Parent Limited, Inc. is also opening a free-standing store in Columbus, Ohio, in two weeks “to sell athletic clothes,” including yoga pants and sports bras.
Sharen Jester Turney, president and chief executive of the chain, said “Many of our customers have said, ‘I’ve been waiting for you to do sport wear that is sexier.’”
Talk about huge news. If dignified athletic endeavors ever needed a sturdier, sexier sports bra, it’s now.
