A NBA media source told me today that Jason Kidd missed the Mavericks’ dismantling of the Knicks Sunday to attend the birth of his fifth child.
(Looking for the word? Let me help you: “Discriminating”)
This time for Kidd the baby mama roulette wheel stopped on the former longtime girlfriend of Russell Simmons, Porschla Coleman.
Russell Simmons Tweet today:
“Sorry about blowing up tigers “anonymous gift” such a sweet gesture . People have cared so much about other”secrets” this is inspirng?”
Simmons claimed in a previous Tweet two days ago: “I heard tiger woods donating to send a cargo plane with a mobile hospital out there. Keep ur prayers high!“
Simmons Wednesday night told the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: “Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage.”
Two days ago, rap music mogul Russell Simmons Tweeted this:
Wednesday night Simmons told the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, “Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage.”
Yesterday Simmons’ spokesman Marcus Harris added to the NYDN, “I am waiting to have the conversation [with Tiger] tomorrow morning. I am hopeful that it is a yes.”
This afternoon from the ASSOCIATED PRESS:
Greg McLaughlin, president of the Tiger Woods Foundation, said Friday he has not received any information from rap mogul Russell Simmons, who has said on Twitter that Woods is providing $3 million to help with the recovery.
In the past 24 hours, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has been shouting from the rooftops that Tiger Woods is planning to make a large donation to the Haitian earthquake relief effort.
(Tweets were 20 hours ago and nothing from Tiger)
Simone Weichselbaum and Samuel Goldsmith of the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS then followed up with this on Simmons and Woods:
Tiger Woods is considering a $3 million donation that would send doctors and supplies to Haiti, rap icon Russell Simmons told the Daily News.
“Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage,” Simmons said Wednesday night.
Simmons and representatives from Wyclef Jean’s Haitian relief organization Yele have asked Woods to support the effort. Simmons spokesman has been in touch with Woods managment team and they are “excited” about the idea.
“I am waiting to have the conversation [with Tiger] tomorrow morning,” Simmons’ spokesman Marcus Harris said. “I am hopeful that it is a yes.”
“I am just asking for his heart and his hand,” he said.
“Just to meet the needs of the people.”
So we’ve going to “Tiger is” to “Tiger is considering” helping out in the Haitian relief effort. Sounds a little like Simmons might’ve jumped the gun. Especially considering that Woods reps have been silent. If he was going to do such a thing, don’t you think they’d be trumpeting his good deed?
It’s only been a few days since the Michael Vick Era began for the Philadelphia Eagles, and we’ve already got our first bizarre development. Naturally, it coincides perfectly with the Michael Vick Redemption Tour, which began in earnest last night with Vick’s appearance on 60 Minutes.
Concurrently, a blog post went up on Russell Simmons‘ (yes, that Russell Simmons) GLOBALGRIND.COM, purportedly written by Vick and titled “What I Did Was Horrendous“. It’s an unflinching, remorseful look from Vick at his regrets and what he’s learned and seems like a good next step in getting his career back on track. It has over 60,000 page views and over 1,600 comments in fewer than 24 hours. Simmons’ PR team even confirmed to CNBC’s Darren Rovell that the post is Vick’s and that the team will verify it shortly.
One slight problem: Vick and the Eagles say he didn’t write a damned thing.
