21-year-old Rory McIlroy torched the Quail Hollow Championship field yesterday to win the PGA Tour stop with a final round 62. Like 18-year-old Japanese phenom Ryo Ishikawa, who shot 58 Sunday to win a Japan Tour event, McIlroy has heard the Tiger Woods comparisons over the years.

Thankfully though for McIlroy, if pictures and video of his longtime girlfriend Holly Sweeney are any indication, it appears the Irish golfer is a wee more socially developed than ‘Urkel’ Woods was at 21.

18-YEAR-OLD GOLFER DECLINES TIGER’S TOURNEY INVITE: A young Irish golfer has done the unthinkable and snubbed Tiger Woods:
SETANTA SPORTS slices news that 18-year-old Rory McIlroy was invited by the world-famous golfer to compete in next month’s Target World Championships in Los Angeles.But the links lad politely declined the invitation, preferring to stick with playing through his European Tour schedule.
McIlroy explained, “It was hard to say no, but we’ve written to the organizers explaining the predicament I’m in. And besides, I have 30 more years to compete in Tiger’s events.”
Not if your dissing him like that. Woods would never back out of attending such a life-changing event.
Oh, wait.
