5:55 PM Instead of picking up his $4 million option, the Boston Red Sox sign 43-year-old pitcher Tim Wakefield to a new 2-year deal worth up to $7 million.

5:39 PM ESPN The Mag's Chris Broussard reports that Mark Stevens, agent for Golden State's Stephen Jackson, decides that the quickest way to get his client traded is to go on a verbal tirade against the Warriors' coach. Stevens tells Broussard, "No one trusts Don Nelson."

5:00 PM Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin told Yahoo! Sports on Saturday night that he could miss up to a month with an upper-body injury. Now Alex says that he was just joking, and could be back on the ice within a week.

HS Cheer Coach Gets 6 Months For Sex w/Student

A former high school cheerleading coach in Arizona has been sentenced after pleading guilty to three counts of Mark Chmura.
