The Laker guard volunteered to help out the Obama camp, and instead of being sent to local events in Southern California, they dispatched him to where he’s needed most: the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. This was big news in Big Sky country. The last Laker to visit the reservation was the incomparable Kurt Rambis.

Michael Beasley Just Spent $50,000 On Marijuana

I knew that the economy was in pretty bad shape at the moment, but I didn’t think that things were this bad. You may remember a few weeks ago when both Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were sent home from the NBA’s Rookie Transition program after the two college teammates were busted in their room with weed and women (which is ironic because you’d think smoking weed with women in your hotel room would be part of the transition to being an NBA player).  Well, even though he wasn’t busted with them, there were rumors at the time that Michael Beasley had been in the room with both of them.

You Don’t Want To Bring Weed On The 1st Day

The year 2008 started out so well for Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur. They were two key players on the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team that won the national title in March, and both were integral factors in that title game. Darrell Arthur dropped in 20 points and had 10 rebounds against Memphis that night, and Mario Chalmers hit the three-pointer at the end of regulation to save Kansas and send the game to overtime. Ever since that night, things haven’t gone so well for the duo.

Both players decided to capitalize on their success by leaving school early to enter the NBA draft, but neither was picked as early as they thought they’d be. Arthur slipped all the way down to 27 before the New Orleans Hornets drafted him, and Chalmers fell out of the first round entirely, going to the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 34th pick. Now Arthur is a member of the Grizzlies, while Chalmers is with the Heat. Of course, they won’t be playing for either team for quite a while now.
