This is a great time to be a basketball fan in Los Angeles. You’ve got the Lakers on course for what could be an unprecendented run of championships (in my humble opinion). And you have the Clippers now featuring hometown hero Baron Davis. It’s perfect at the moment.

Having grown up in KC, I’ve never been an enormous fan of NBA basketball. But for the first time in, well, forever, I’m pretty damn stoked about the League this year for one reason: The Lakers.
I think we’re looking at Jordan-esque dynasty for Lipstick City if Andrew Bynum develops into the glass-eating monster many are projecting. If that happens, and Phil Jax can convince key personalities to earn less to win more (Bynum, Lamar Odom), Jackson will end his coaching career with a mind-blowing flourish.
How can you argue with the balance of talent the Lakers have on deck now? There’s no comparing throughout the league: Offense. Defense. Veterans. Athleticism. Coaching. It’s all there. All of it.
