Kyle Busch Wrecks Totally Sweet NASCAR Trophy

We’re suckers for championship trophy mishaps. If it’s not random sordid incidents (literally) staining the Stanley Cup, it’s a trophy presentation sending a mayor to the hospital. And if it’s not the trophy falling apart accidentally, it’s a very violent, very intentional destruction.

Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch won the Nationwide Series Federated Auto Parts 300 last, and was presented with the traditional guitar given to winners in Nashville. Clearly a big fan of Pete Townshend, Busch smashed the hell out of his trophy in the winner’s circle. Metal.

NASCAR Waters Down Cabbage Patch Kids Market

NASCAR, bless their profit-driven souls, would put an official NASCAR holograph sticker on their mothers if they thought Mama would sell at a 60% markup in one of those truck trailers set up outside the tracks on race day. Of course, their mothers would fly off the shelves if they had Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s face tattooed on their arms.

Cabbage Patch NASCAR

(”Finally, I can relate to the sport of NASCAR!”)

That’s why the makers of Cabbage Patch Kids chose Junior to be the first one to receive the Cabbage Patch Kid treatment in the “NASCAR ‘Kids” line. No, really. They are making NASCAR drivers into Cabbage Patch Kids. We have photographic proof after the jump of the only opportunity Junior will have to come in first this year.

Busch Tired Of Signing “Suitcases” Full Of Junk

Kyle Busch is as close to Dale Earnhardt as NASCAR has today (even more so than Dale Earnhardt Jr.: you have to win occasionally to be compared to No. 3). He’s a phenomenally talented driver who would rather wreck you out (and him, if needed) than lose a race. Because of this hard-charging style and his perceived arrogance, Busch is the one driver fans love to hate.

And this probably won’t win him any more fans. THE TENNESSEAN says that Busch was a sour puss after finishing second to teammate Joey Logano in the Nationwide Series race at Nashville Speedway on Saturday, and not just because he lost. Apparently, he was miffed that the track’s “all-access” ticket program allowed people to bug him with autograph requests all weekend - a lot of requests.

Bonehead Busch’s Bristol Revenge Plan Backfires

Kyle Busch had a bad week: first he had to deal with the distraction of Joe Gibbs Racing getting caught cheating (even though it wasn’t his car). And on Saturday night, he lost more than once at Bristol during the NASCAR Nextel Cup race. As the AP reported, he was passed by rival Carl Edwards with a few laps to go to finish second, despite having had the dominating car all race long (in fact he led 415 consecutive laps in the 500 lap race).

Then, to make matters worse, his attempts at revenge blew up in his face - he ran into Edwards on the cool down lap, only to be the one who wound up spun out. You would think that if he ever watched the Laff-A-Lympics, he would have known that kind of chicanery and tomfoolery never worked for The Really Rottens.

Police Pick Up Same NASCAR Fan Twice At Pocono

Throughout my life I’ve generally been a law abiding citizen. Okay, so not exactly. What I mean by that is that I’ve broken plenty of laws in my life, but I’ve never been caught, so as far as the police know I’m law abiding. Still, that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate the feats of those who have been arrested in their life. Be it for assault, public drunkenness, arson, or any combination of such charges.

Pocono Raceway

So it’s with that in mind that I’d like to introduce all of you to a man named Donald Swisher Jr. You see, Donald is the type of guy who reaches for the stars in every aspect of his life. That’s why after he was arrested once on Sunday while attending the Sprint Cup race in Pocono with his girlfriend, he decided that one time just wasn’t enough.
