John Wetteland Back At Home After Hospital Stay
Seattle Mariners bullpen coach John Wetteland is back at his home in Argyle, Texas, tonight after after being taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon in what was earlier reported as a “mental health issue”- with some speculation that it was a suicide attempt.
The former major league pitcher released this statement through the Mariners about his situation:
“Thank you for your concerns. My wife and I are very appreciative of the over and above care of our local officers and paramedics. The circumstances leading to my elevated blood pressure and heart rate have been addressed. I am currently resting safely at home.”
Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik also commented on Wetteland’s situation, and tried to explain what actually happened.
