With a new NFL season approaching, we’re looking forward to another year of exciting & titillating coverage. And we know just the lady to provide it: Ines Sainz.

As you may or may not recall (but will be happy to be reminded), Ms. Sainz is a sports reporter for Mexico’s TV Azteca. She made quite an impression at Super Bowl Media Day a few years back, and last season even got a camera-shy Terrell Owens to come out of his shell. (TV tip to T.O.: Get Ines on your reality show, and folks might actually tune in.)
Let’s hope that CBS or Fox or NBC or ESPN can broker some kind of talent exchange deal with TV Azteca, so we can see Ines strut her stuff on the sidelines from San Diego to Cincinnati, move her money maker from Miami to Minnesota, bounce that butt from Baltimore to the Bay Area … well, you get the idea.
(More pics of Ines after the jump.)

As you may know, the NFL is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. It’s the league’s attempt to reach out to those fans in the Latin community - and get them to reach into their pocketbooks and purchase some tickets ‘n’ jerseys ‘n’ such. Tony Kornheiser did his part in trying to play Spanish Translator, while Chad Johnson showed his appreciation of Spanish numerals with his new “Ocho Cinco” surname.

Of course, if the NFL really wants to showcase Hispanic Heritage, they would have marvelous Mexican TV reporter Ines Sainz strutting her stuff on as many Sunday & Monday sidelines as possible. CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN - somebody please hire this woman!
Anyway, when last Sunday’s “MNF” crew informed us that we were watching Las Aguilas de Philadelphia vs. Los Vaqueros de Dallas, we wondered why not do the same favor for the league’s 30 other teams? So, as a public service (and as a way for fantasy football players to impress that cute Latina secretary at work tomorrow), here’s a handy & helpful guide of the NFL squads as seen en espanol:

• KICKETTE passes along photographic proof that Fernando Torres, hero of Spain’s Euro 2008 championship, needs to get some more sun.

We recommend a bold bronzed look along the lines of former Miss Spain & current TV sports reporter Ines Sainz.
• The Steelers aren’t the only NFL team rumored for sale, as the FLORIDA TIMES UNION hears that the Jaguars may be on the shopping block - and might soon be on their way to Los Angeles.
• PRO FOOTBALL TALK hears reasons from Plaxico Burress why Kordell Stewart didn’t have a gay old time in Pittsburgh.
• HARDWOOD PAROXYSM is bedeviled by these nine Duke players who became such douchebags in the NBA. Maybe a stint on garbage detail could have straightened them out.

Turns out Terrell Owens is now in the third year of his three-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. So, when should we expect to hear the receiver start railing for a raise or extension?

Actually, it might be a while. Right now, he says it’s “not a problem“.
The media was invited to Cowboys camp for this first time on Wednesday. And T.O. told the flummoxed fourth estate that he’s not worried about his expiring contract: Read more…

What hath Erin Andrews wrought?

LOG’S BLOG picks up this tidbit from THE LONDON SUN about efforts in the Isles to attract more sports viewers. And the solution - show more attractive sports reporters. Or as the Sun put it, “The women presenters on Sky Sports News have been told to sex-up their looks to beat off competition from a rival channel.”
“Beat off competition“? Knowing the Sun, this quip was likely intentional.
The reason for Sky’s risque request is the appearance of new girls on Setanta Sports Channel. In fact, fans are already falling in love with the ladies. As a Sky Sports insider commented, “Setanta now have good-looking girls of their own, and we want our female hosts to stay ahead of the competition.”

FAN IQ’s CRITICAL FANATIC sends along this shot of Ines Gomez Mont, a sports reporter for Spanish-language station TV Azteca.

Wondering what’s with the wedding gown? The intrepid Ms. Gomez Mont used her time at Super Bowl Media Day to ask the important questions - namely, would Tom Brady marry her?
She pleaded with the Pats QB, “Marry me now, Tom! Say yes! I’m the real Mrs. Brady!” Tom could only flash that million-dollar smile of his and respond, “I’ve got a few Mrs. Bradys in my life.”
The nuptial-minded reporter wasn’t the first Mexican TV babe - or even the first Ines - to grab Super attention on Media Day.

Before Terrell Owens spilled his heart out on Sunday, he spent the previous week shying away from the media - until one ravishing reporter caught his eye.

T.O. spent last Wednesday’s press conference hiding behind a curtain. But when he peaked out, he spotted a curvaceous blonde with a press pass. Terrell proceeded to wave the reporter over and chatted it up with her, no doubt discussing backfields in motion and defensive penetration.
But who is the lovely lass with the nice…media room demeanor?
