NEXT ON HIS XMAS LIST: THE SPACE SHUTTLE (LOW MILES!) The ASSOCIATED PRESS finds out what to get the man who has everything, Tiger Woods, for Christmas.

Excerpt: “There aren’t many autographs he wants in return, but Woods recently got a prized possession — a baseball signed by Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax.“Woods on the landing a signed ball from the out-of-sight southpaw: “How about that? I’ve been a Dodger fan my entire life, and Koufax is the man.”

Woods, who rarely signs autographs himself except under the auspicies of Upper Deck, “asked an official at Upper Deck that if he ever ran into Koufax, would he ask for an autograph. The next time Woods saw him, the Upper Deck rep handed him a baseball.”Woods only other autograph? Signed boxing trunks (circa 1977) from Muhammad Ali. Woods: “I had never asked for any autograph ever, and I said to him, ‘Could you please sign anything, a paper, anything, please?’ He was shaking (from Parkinson’s Disease) and said, ‘I’ll take care of it.’ All of a sudden, I had a a pair of trunks. He said, ‘I won’t be needing these anymore.’ I’ve got those hanging on my wall.”

And hanging right next to that? A Phil Mickelson game-worn brassiere (sadly, unsigned).

QUINN SENDS FAMILY JERSEY IN MEMORY OF DAUGHTER: Say what you will about Brady Quinn and all his goofy pictures floating around the Internet. When it comes to important matters, the Cleveland QB has a heart:

FIRST AND 10 INCHES has a personal story about Brady coming through for a family in mourning.A sister of one of the site’s close friends was tragically killed in a car accident on Thanksgiving morning. As the site explained, the woman was a life-long Browns fan - even eating a dog bone in her younger days to prove her team loyalty:

“Never saying an unkind word about anyone – although I can remember a few choice thoughts on Charlie Frye, but in hindsight they may have been warranted – she was truly one of a kind.”

The victim was from Dublin, OH, the same hometown as Quinn. Brady found out about the story, and although he never met her, he had a gift delivered to the woman’s family.

It was Brady’s game-worn jersey from week 2 of the season, with a signature reading, “To the [Redacted] Family, in memory of [Redacted]. – Brady Quinn.”

Such a generous act wasn’t the first time Brady reached out to fans in times of trouble. Earlier this year, 11-year-old Quinn fan Dyan Orr was suffering from a terminal bone disease.

When Brady heard of the young girl’s condition, he sent the young girl an autographed jersey. And in what she called the greatest moment of her life, Quinn called Dyan to talk to her in person.Sadly, Dyan passed away last June. Her family has a website in her honor to help find a cure for her diseases.

OASIS A**HOLE NOEL HAS MANU’S ROONEY FEELING BLUE: In case you don’t know, there is actually another Premier League team in Manchester, England, besides Manchester United. Crosstown Manchester City has long been a downtrodden little brother to the Red Devils, so when Man City fans can let Man U have it, they take full advantage.

That was the case earlier this week, when Oasis star, Man City fan (and notorious arsehole) Noel Gallagher was asked by the fiancee of Man U star Wayne Rooney to sign a guitar for his birthday. Gallagher obliged, but in the process spray-painted the instrument light blue (Man City colors) and wrote “Happy Birthday, Fatboy.”

LONDON SUN source: “Noel couldn’t believe it. Mancs and Scousers haven’t been the closest of friends – and asking a City fanatic to sign a guitar for a United player is a red rag to a bull. It was a gift for Noel – he loves a wind-up.”

At least Rooney will have company this weekend in England when it comes to feeling (the Big) Blue.
