6:51 PM Gov. Deval Patrick has signed a bill allowing MMA events to be held in Massachusetts, and Dana White is understandably excited.

6:30 PM ESPN's Marc Stein reports that Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe will become the team's next coach, replacing the fired Lawrence Frank. The Nets will also hire Del Harris as assistant coach. But Kiki won't start until Friday - so he can keep that likely record 18th loss off his resume.

5:30 PM WCNC-TV in Charlotte reports that Carolina Panthers LB Jon Beason has been arrested for aggravated assault. The charges stem from a Nov. 15 incident at a local strip club where Beason allegedly punched a man in the face.

5:15 PM The Associated Press reports that TBS has "parted ways" with Atlanta Braves broadcaster Chip Caray.
