18-year-old Charlotte high school senior Charney Watt had a lot going for her. She was a cheerleader at Olympic High School as well as a track star, and had just been accepted to college. But all that’s moot now, as she was shot and killed by her boyfriend on Sunday in a domestic dispute.
Gary Daniels, also 18, is charged with Watt’s murder. She was found dead of a gunshot wound inside his house, so it looks like pretty much a slam-dunk case against him. Domestic violence situations between teenagers often go unreported, and now a young woman with a bright future has lost her life.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall is expected to only improve as the #1 guy for QB Jay Cutler to throw to this season, but off-field accusations may be getting in the way of a connection. Marshall is already recovering from a bizarre incident involving getting injured after slipping on a McDonald’s wrapper; now the DENVER POST is reporting that the NFL is looking into possible disciplinary actions after an arrest involving a possible domestic dispute with his long-time girlfriend back in March.
Rasheedah Watley claimed in an affidavit that “Marshall hit her in the mouth and left eye, leaving her with, according to the criminal warrant, ‘visible marks above the eye and a laceration on her top and bottom lip.’” Charges have not been filed, and the two have a back history of events that resulted in dropped charges.
THE BRAZOSPORT FACTS, via FANHOUSE, has the latest on accusations that Houston Texans wide receiver and returner Jerome Mathis allegedly gave his pregnant girlfriend a special type of hug … around her neck.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s department claims the whole incident started with an argument over a cell phone charger between Mathis and girlfriend Erica Smith.
South Florida senior linebacker Ben Moffitt has been portrayed as the perfectly dedicated husband & father, driving a 55-mile commute from campus everyday to be with his wife & two children - all while pursuing his football dreams.
But the missus spoke out on Thursday, saying that Moffitt’s ‘family man’ image is a farce.
Shauna Moffitt tells the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES that Ben had in fact walked out on her and his 5-year-old son & 3-year-old daughter back in November, and has hardly heard from him since.
“He is living a lie. He’s lying to everyone. He’s not helping (us) with anything.”
