Usually, Tony Romo saves his worst for last, shining as the season begins but falling apart in December and January. But hey, last night was kind of a big game - it was the first “official” game at the new Cowboys Stadium, and it was a national TV audience against the arch-rival New York Giants. So I guess you can’t blame Romo for reverting to his late-season form and throwing up all over himself in the Cowboys’ 33-31 loss.
Romo threw three picks - including one that was returned for a touchdown - and generally looked more spooked than a race horse that’s just been hit with a firecracker. But despite this, the Cowboys actually led late, and it looked like Dallas might pull out an improbable victory. Read more…
Julio Castillo is certainly a dangerous man. Whether intentionally and feloniously so is, it seems, a matter for the courts.

Castillo is facing trial in Dayton, Ohio, for his role in a bench-clearing brawl between his former team, the Peoria Chiefs, and the hometown Dragons. Wait, that doesn’t adequately explain the situation. He threw a ball that cracked an unsuspecting fan in the skull. Video is below, and it’s stunning.
Peoria Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo had some issues commanding the location of his fastball in last night’s Class-A game against the Dayton Dragons. Castillo hit everything but the strikezone - including two batters and a fan - resulting in a 10 minute bench clearing brawl, 17 ejections and one night in jail for the pitcher. The fan was hospitalized after being hit with a ball thrown by Castillo, which was intended for the Dayton dugout. Benches were beginning to clear following a shoving match between Dayton manager Donnie Scott and interim Peoria manager Carmelo Martinez, who was filling in for regular manager Ryne Sandberg.
ESPN.COM reports that “Castillo was arrested and faces one count of felonious assault. He is in the Montgomery County Jail and has a court appearance Friday.”Read more…
