Bras Have Trouble Handling Bouncing Breasts
BRAS CAN’T KEEP ABREAST OF MODERN MAMMARY MOVING: A new scientific study conclues that most bras can’t handle bouncing breasts like they used to:

MSNBC and LIVE SCIENCE uncover a University of Portsmouth report that ordinary bras have trouble supporting the strain of mammary movement. And it’s worse when it comes to exercise, as breasts have been found to move at far as eight inches during workouts.
For her research, Joanna Scurr gathered 70 women, ranging in cup sizes from A to JJ. Each test subject walked, jogged and ran while wearing different bra styles, as the funbag fluctuations were measured.

The findings determined that most movement was of the up-and-down variety, yet the overall pattern of boob bouncing resemled a figure-8, as breasts also moved side-to-side and in-and-out.
Further research concluded that encapsulation bras, where cups are separately molded, did a better job of support than compression bras, which only limit the up-and-down movement.

It’s estimated that 50% of women experience breast pain while exercising, as intense bouncing can stretch the breast’s connecting tissue, leading to additional pain and sagging.
Scurr hopes her findings will help convince manufacturers to build a better brassiere, and help keep women in a more active but less-painful lifestyle.
