The LOS ANGELES TIMES exploded a dirty bomb of conjecture with the report that Brett Favre maybe coulda might be thinking about weighing a comeback after retiring from the NFL for all of a full month. Missing all that playing time must have been rough on the Gunslinger.

Favre’s agent has already tried to nip this in the bud, but the rapid Favre philes in the media will hear nothing of it. So long as Peter King lives and breathes shall Brett remain in this league!

Judd Zulgad of the MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE reports today that “The NFL will announce this afternoon that the Vikings will play the Green Bay Packers in the Monday night opener at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 on ESPN, according to an industry source.”

We think this is a great idea, since it’ll be a wonderful showcase for Brett Favre after he decides to come back at the last second. Man, that should be fun!
