7:44 PM Maurice Jones-Drew apologized to his Fantasy League owners today for taking a knee on the one-yard-line during the Jags' win over the Jets: "Sorry to my fantasy owners. They told me to get as close as I can and take a knee."

7:22 PM Gregg Rosenthal at PFT reports, "The Eagles announced that (Brian) Westbrook was knocked out of Sunday's game against San Diego in the fourth quarter with another concussion ." ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the same.

7:14 PM So Ced Benson of the Bengals goes down with a hip (update on his status) and now it appears Michael Turner of The Birds has an ankle that might be serious.

Great find by Michael David Smith of Fanhouse today. Jim Spanarkel, the man we normally only see for those scintillating 1-vs-16 tournament tilts (hello Len Elmore!), has an amusing Freudian slip while interviewing Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalez recently:

For those without sound, Gonzalez said, “The emotion, the energy, the buzz in the building, just spectacular, they were our sixth man, and it really was a special, special win for them.”

Spanarkel then, smooth as silk, closes with, “Congratulations. Continued good sex in the … ugh, sex … in the Big East.“
