Virginia Tech linebacker Vince Hall may not play in tonight’s Orange Bowl, thanks to a banged-up knee from scurrying around on a Sea Doo. Hall’s injury was suffered in the surf on Sunday during a team beach outing.
VT trainer Mike Goforth told the ROANOKE TIMES, “They were playing around in the water and Vince went to take a step and banged it a little bit. It’s real stiff right now. I’m not going to push him at this point.”

He had quite the competition from “Arkansas Running Back” and “Hawaii Quarterback”, not to mention memorable “Missouri Quarterback”.Of course, Tebow can’t have his name or likeness on the apparel. Timmy’s an amateur athlete, and it’s against NCAA rules for their athletes to receive any personal financial windfalls from merchandising or licensing.

In addition to Mangino’s hardware, the Jayhawks football team was honored with the Stanley Tools Breakthrough Of The Year Award.Home Depot? Stanley Tools? Now the team can start on Memorial Stadium renovations when they get back to Lawrence.

His competition includes Virginia Tech leader and Orange Bowl nemesis Frank Beamer.And now the Hokies have bulletin board material before their Miami showdown. During the awards show, Kansas OT Anthony Collins remarked, “We’re an up-and-coming team. We’re 11-1, soon to be 12-1, and we need all the recruits we can get so we can get to the national championship.”
