The first weekend of the NCAA tournament is almost over, but we still have today through Wednesday to point and laugh at the Blue Devils.
For the second straight year, Duke has failed to make the Sweet Sixteen, and those who have grown tired of the Mike Krzyzewski pedigree are enjoying it, and are attacking the program from all sides.
If there is one team in college basketball that most fans probably want to see suffer an early defeat, it’s Duke. There’s never anything wrong with watching the Blue Devils go down, even when it means a stand-up guy like Bob Huggins advances.

The 2008 NCAA Tourney opening round is starting to look familiar to the 2007 Tourney - no big upsets, but plenty of blowouts.
The closest excitement fans were treated to on Thursday was Belmont’s close call against Duke. The 15th-seed Bruins had the 2nd-seed Blue Devils on the ropes, but a bad inbounds pass and a missed last-second half-court shot allowed the Dookies to escape with a 71-70 win, and Belmont was banished back to Nashville.
But apart from those D.C. follies, it was a day of very little drama.
