I have confirmed with the Fernandina Beach police department that a death in that area is being investigated. If anyone believes they can help with the investigation itself, the police department told me they would be interested in speaking with anyone with direct info. As soon as more is available, I’ll bring it here.

Douglas, an Alabama offensive lineman who previously played as a freshman at the University of Tennessee, had most recently participated in the Crimson Tide’s spring practice drills.

Douglas was only 21.
