The ASSOCIATED PRESS reports Dave Winfield and Dusty Baker have traveled to Africa “for a goodwill trip aimed at promoting the sport in a region where little is known about it.”
What that duo doesn’t know, at least according to the NEW YORK TIMES, is that the NFL has beaten MLB to the punch on the continent, thanks to the Super Bowl immortals Scott Norwood, Neil O’Donnell and Jackie Smith.
