We all had a good laugh about Steven Russo, the 35-year-old who allegedly plied local cheerleaders with booze and photographed them working the stripper pole in his basement. But that story took a turn for the disturbing this week.
Steven Russo and his 4-year-old son Michael were found in his car, with the garage doors closed and the engine running. Thankfully they were discovered in time by the child’s grandfather. Perhaps we should have known the type of man who would get underage girls drunk and photograph them would have much larger issues.
Michael Clapso was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg where a blood test showed he had an elevated carbon monoxide level, Jessica Clapso said in her statement, adding that Michael will be OK.
Quoted in her statement to police, Jessica Clapso said Russo text-messaged her, saying, “This is on you and good-bye.”
Could something so minor as hosting an underage drinking party push an otherwise normal man to the brink of suicide? Unsurprisingly, no.
Jessica Clapso has a separate PFA (protection from abuse notice) against Russo from an October incident in which police said Russo stalked Clapso by following her from the Northampton County Courthouse after she was granted a PFA prohibiting Russo from harassing her.
Police arrested him in that incident after they stopped him in the Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School parking lot, where he allegedly had followed Clapso.
Police told him he cannot follow her or contact her, to which Russo responded, “I can do anything I want,” according to the court documents.
He was handcuffed and arrested, and charged with stalking, harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
The first of many various hearings is set for this Friday, and Russo will be representing himself in court. Which means, things are going to get a lot weirder.
