Steve Harvey of the LOS ANGELES TIMES takes us behind the scenes of the filming of "Seabiscuit" at Santa Anita.

Ralph Shaffer, a professor emeritus at Cal Poly Pomona, tells the Times that getting the Seabiscuit stand-in to win the big race took a few takes:

"They had a hard time getting Seabiscuit to the finish line ahead of the field. (In one of the takes) one of the also-rans bolted and beat Seabiscuit to the wire by many lengths."

Harvey: "I suspect the also-ran is finished in Hollywood."
