WCCO-AM in Minneapolis sources that Brock Lesnar has a case of diverticulitis, which is “a disease where small pouches form in the digestive system.”

I’m by no means accusing Brock Lesnar of doing steroids, but a quick check on the diagnosis of diverticulitis reveals that steroid use can sometimes play a significant role in masking early symptoms.
In 2003, the New Zealand Medical Journal reported, “One of the lesser known but most life-threatening gastrointestinal side effects of steroids is the perforation of colonic diverticula.”
Meanwhile, in 2005, Holly Salzman, M.D., and Dustin Lillie, M.D. of the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine reported in their article Diverticular Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment: “Steroids also may mask symptoms (of Diverticulitis) and delay appropriate therapy.”
Again, not saying Lesnar did steroids, just pointing out that steroids can have a documented effect on the diagnosis and treatment of diverticulitis.
We’ve heard from Dana White that Lesnar’s condition is very serious, and it turns out he was right on in his assessment of the situation.
Speedy recovery to Lesnar.

I heard one of the side effects was tinyneckulitous, shrinkage of the the neck.
OF COURSE ITS ROID releated,…cmon…really? does anyone think its not?
if you work for Vince McMahon you do roids, thats it…a true statement from Vince he does NOT want anyone in the crowd bigger than anyone in the ring,…plus Vince McMahon almost did time for peddling roids, but hulk hogan wouldn’t testify against him and the case fell apart….why do you think Hulk hogan was the only ex wrestler to have that much money, its not because those bad movies he made or being the best fake wrestler in 1987, Vince paid him off in appreciation for not sending him to jail for 15 years.
Lesnar is a roid head, so was the rock..he even admitted it.

Hulk has all that money from “Thunder in Paradise” on TBS.
And lay off Brooks, he’s out in L.A. in the direct line of site with Dana White and doesn’t want to get his arse kicked.

If… IF… this is true… it is just another brick in the wall of people that the WWE/F screwed up.
Thankfully, the UFC is big (and legitimate) enough to bring guys like Lesnar straight into the ranks rather than into ‘wrasslin’ and then into the UFC.
McMahon is unappologetic about roids in wrasslin and to an extent, I support him (as long as he’s not actually pushing the roids or has a table set up in the backroom full of them).
It’s like women and stripping. If that is what you are going to do to put food in your mouth, you have freewill… so be it. Just don’t come crying to me (us) when it goes wrong or your flame blows out early.
If… IF…. Lesnar took roids in his wrasslin’ days, he’s paying for it now. I just hope he recovers and fights again in the UFC… he is a great fighter and personality for the franchise.
Although… if he ends up back in the WWE… I think we know the real reason for his sidelining.

Weak story Brooks. I know you LOVE Dana White and all, but this a stretch.
7:57 pm on November 17th, 2009
If Salzman and Lillie say it, it must be true; they are gods among men…. along the lines of Goliath1’s good post - if… if… Lesnar did take ‘roids and this illness does end his career, I hope he comes clean and does some work to try to warn young men of the ramifications of the shortcut that ‘roids are.

the “steroids” article your accusatory post links to are actually CORTICOsteroids, ie prednisone et al. pretty much the opposite of anabolic steroids. do some research, you retard. mis- (dis?) information is the genesis of false knowledge, which generally leads to a misguided outcry and more well-meaning government intervention into our lives.
10:02 pm on November 17th, 2009
Spacegoblin is right. As someone whose taken prednisone and methylprednisolone, and seeing a gastro doctor for the last 14 years these gastrointestinal studies are not talking about anabolic steroids. I had a small case of diverticulitis and it was a bitch, lucky that it was not progressive which seems to be the case for Lesnar. Maybe instead of a “quick check”, you should read the study in the context in which it was wrote.

Maybe you should hire me.

Won’t he look tough with a colostomy bag! What a crappy disease.
6:31 am on November 18th, 2009
What a silly, poorly researched, passive-aggressive article. Either accuse him of steroids or don’t post the damn article. Then at the end you actually try to sound nice by wishing him a speedy recovery after shoveling dirt on his name?
I’d bet money that he was on roids/HGH when he was in the WWE. I would also bet that he isn’t on them since leaving, and I would also bet roids aren’t a factor in his current illness.

Steve, sounds like your on a bit of a roid rage yourself. you must be Lessnars work out buddy. Any dirt that’s on that dirt bag could be called Karma.

weak. but no surprise here from Brooks, aftr all, he’s just asking the questions mainstream media is afraid to ask. liek glen beck, or Eric Cartman. thank goodness for Brooks. so, if brock takes steroids (and he has teasted positive in the past) does that make MMA and the UFC a fraud? or jus like the NBA, NFL NHL MLB and every other professional sportg where its atheletes take steroids as well?
10:51 am on November 18th, 2009
To reiterate the post above, you really should fact check before slinging allegations towards anyone’s perceived drug usage. Its scumbags like you in the drive-by media that shoot their mouths off without taking the slightest time to research any of your unfounded claims… Especially in this time of heightened “panic” over performance enhancing substances.
Your lack of professionalism is astounding.

I actually suffer from this disease (Diverticulitis)….. It usually starts to occur in men about Lesnar’s age. I was hospitalized with it this past summer, luckily I caught it in time and did not require surgery. It appears Leasnar was not as fortunate. From everything I have read and have been told it is almost 100% caused either by either ones diet or hereditary genes. My father has this same disease and so does my grandfather, maybe someone should’ve researched his family history first……..
What happens is that these little pouches form on the colon area and attract bacteria which lead to infection. It starts out with severe lower stomache pain, almost crippling you. If its not caught soon enough to be treated with anti-biotics, the infection will become so severe that surgery will be required to cut out a section of the digestive tract. A person can easily die from this disease if the infection has caused a hole in the colon which will leak bacteria into the body.
There is no reason why Lesnar couldnt fight again, and soon, if this gets cleared up. There are really no physical side effects after treatment except for minor stomache discomfort every now and then.
11:12 am on November 18th, 2009
Oh and by the way…. the only early symptoms are minor stomache discomfort. So it is naturally very easy for it to go unnoticed for days or even weeks.

What are you, Glenn Beck? “I’m not accusing him, i’m just saying…”
12:09 am on December 22nd, 2009
WOW most likely hes done steroids in his life just look at him.
also who gives a shit if he did and if it does have to do with his illness well tough shit for him thats what he gets. and also… FUCK KURT

I dont think everyone is stupid , this guy took steroids, takes steroids and will keep on taking them cause Dana White will never test him because he is such a big draw. I’m glad that loudmouth aint the champ no more cause champs dont act rude like he does. Cain is the true champ inside and outside of the ring. Congrats to you Cain!

Mark Mcquire was allowed to do drugs and compete Other Ball players were not so lucky. When it comes to Brock Lesnar everyone turns their head to look away when it comes to PEDs. Brock did an interview for ESPN when the drug question came up he ran of the set literally. Without roids Brock is nothing. He has to be the biggest and the strongest to compete because of his lack of skill. Too bad for him that being the biggest has cost him his health.

Steroids in wrestling is NOT the same thing women stripping. Taking your clothes off in a regulated environment is LEGAL. Steroids, when not given by a doctor for a medical condition, are ILLEGAL. Two completely DIFFERENT thing.
What if I told you that I was filiming a movie on crack heads, and I was going to pay you $1,000,000 to do crack every day for a year so we could film you? That would be ILLEGAL. That is the SAME thing as steroids in the WWE. It’s ILLEGAL!!!!
You people are stupid, and you need to seperate the principles of steroids away from the morality of it. Steroids are NOT legal, period.
