WMC-TV in Memphis is reporting that John Calipari has agreed to become Kentucky’s next men’s basketball coach.
(”HI-KEEBA!”)
Earlier reports said Calipari met with UK officials on Sunday in an “undisclosed location” to talk turkey about their head coaching gig. And now John has apparently gobbled up what the Wildcats were offering.
A source told WMC that Kentucky was offering Calipari $6.67 million per season to come to Lexington, while ESPN’s Andy Katz reported that a potential deal would be for 8 years and $35 million - either case making Calipari the highest-paid coach in the counrty. Rivals.com further added that Calipari turned down the Tigers’ counter-offer of $5 million per season.
WLEX-TV reports that other sources have confirmed Calipari’s hiring. In addition to capturing Coach Cal, the Wildcats will reportedly also be acquiring Calipari’s coaching staff from Memphis, while two Tiger players, Wesley Witherspoon & Robert Sallie, plan to transfer to Kentucky.
Not a bad haul after banishing Billy Gillispie.

Does a coach really deserve that much money. Kentucky is so famous for getting the shady coach, so lets pay 35 Million to a guy because he knows how to get players illegally without getting caught, lets give him 8 years, crazy!
And hopefully the lakers will one day www.tradekobe.com I am sick of him to!
