WAL-MART SPORTS BARON PLOTTING ARSENAL TAKEOVER: Two weeks ago SbB reported that after denying an interest in buying a small stake in Arsenal of England’s Premiership, Stan Kroenke purchased a minority share in the team.

The LONDON OBSERVER is now reporting today that Kroenke, who married Wal-Mart money (despite bogus “self-made” bio claims) and owns the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and MLS Rapids while co-owning the St. Louis Rams, is planning a Glazer-esque $1.3B takeover of Arsenal.

The UK media outlet reports that Kroenke has called “JP Morgan for advice and possible financial support” and believes the club’s largest shareholder, Danny Fiszman, who owns more than 24%, “could be persuaded to cut his stake.” Kroenke purchased his initial 12.19% parcel of the club from Fiszman.

Last week the MANCHESTER GUARDIAN reported club chairman Peter Hill-Wood said he and “three of the club’s major shareholders” — Fiszman, Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and the Carr family — have “no intention of selling to” Kroenke and would be “horrified to see the club go across the Atlantic.“

Seeing as Fiszman already sold some of this shares to Kroenke, I would say Hill-Wood’s choice of the word “horrified” applies more to the nature of Kroenke’s toupee than his plans to buy the club.
