Twitter has been a thorn in the side of many college football coaches this season, but in one case, it has potential to truly do some good.
(Carroll asks everyone to send Stafon Johnson well-wishes via Twitter)
USC coach Pete Carroll today Tweeted that injured Trojan running back Stafon Johnson is now on Twitter, and he encouraged his 45,000+ followers to send Johnson get-well wishes.
Twitter is especially valuable in this case, because Johnson will be unable to speak for, at minimum, six weeks. So Tweeting and receiving messages I’m guessing could be very helpful to his long, arduous recovery.
Here’s a link to Johnson’s Twitter. Also, here’s the address if you want to send Johnson a get-well card.

UPDATE: Gary Klein of the L.A. TIMES has this from Johnson’s mother, Kim Mallory: “Words cannot express the outpouring of love and support we’ve received. It’s overwhelming, and it means so much to me and Stafon.“
