PACKERS NEWS reports that SPORTS ILLUSTRATED will soon be sending out a special issue of their magazine entirely dedicated to Brett Favre.

Copies of the tribute to the just-retired QB are expected to hit newsstands Monday or Tuesday. And we bet SI editors are expecting record-breaking sales in northeast Wisconsin - since the area has been such a Green & Gold mine before.

The Dec.7 issue that honored Favre as SI’s Sportsman of the Year sold over 164,000 copies. Demand was so great that the edition went through a third printing - the first time such a thing happened for any SI issue.

It will be the 9th time Brett will grace the magazine’s cover - and the 3rd time in the past three months. Wisconsin newsstands are already taking reservations for the issue - including one from 73-year-old Favre fan Mary Kay Kucriek, who says of her hero, “He makes us all feel young again.”

And we’re sure to see how young Brett still feels in five months.
